After the success of our recent webinar in August, APC brings another insightful and comprehensive discussion concerning the African Swine Fever (ASF) and its growing threat in the global swine industry. The discussion will give you the overview on the current situation of the industry across all continents and examine the gaps that led the virus to spread. Among the topics that will be highlighted are the importance of the biosecurity, good surveillance program and other contingency program to response to the growing issues concerning the ASF.
Meet Our Speakers
Ramesh Subramonian is graduate in Agriculture and master’s in business administration with 23 years of business development and management experience in the animal nutrition business in Asia. He is based in Singapore and is responsible for the Asia Pacific business.
Prof. Dr. Sánchez-Vizcaíno obtained his DVM and Ph.D from the Complutense University of Madrid, completing his postgraduate studies in immunology and animal virology at Cornell University, New York. His current scientific interest is focused on the study of the epidemiology and preventive medicine of infectious diseases of animals, as well as the development of new diagnostic techniques, new generation vaccines and new strategies for their control.
Javier did his PhD in the Animal Physiology department of Biology Faculty from University of Barcelona. He has been associated for over 30 Years in the Animal Blood Sector and is the Technical Advisor for the European Blood Product Association (EAPA). His presentation tackles the strategic use of spray-dried plasma proteins in feed for weaned pigs and how assuring a great start is the best economical strategy to maximize margins in market conditions with high ingredient cost and reduced meat prices.
